DEER
Hunting deer is one of life's great experiences. Deer are very intelligent animals and you really have to be on your game to take one of these beasts. Stalking the hill country you will experience breath taking scenery in search of deer. Both luck and skill are required to capture this prize animal but with my knowledge and experience you will have the best chance of spotting one of New Zealand's great game.

PIGS
The adrenaline rush of hunting is the stalking and chase of the wild boar. The most thrilling and exciting of all hunts, the boar offers challenges no other form of hunting can. The use of dogs to scout out the game to close quarter contact with this wild beast, you will be left with a real sense of achievement at the end of this experience.

RABBITS
Rabbits are very much a pest on our farm and night shooting is a regular occurance. It is a great way to fill in an evening and can offer you added experience with firearms especially for the novice hunter. For people new to firearms this is a very safe environment in order for you to learn the rules and safety guidelines when using any weapons.

GOATS
Goats are great to hunt as they are fit, fast animals that thrive in the hill country. It is a good way to get used to shooting things at a long distance and introduces the novice hunter to stalking game.

GAME FOWL
Game fowl are another hunting opportunity. Turkeys, pheasants and quail are some of the hardest game to shoot due to their speed and awareness of approaching danger. The most popular game fowl is of course duck shooting. Southern Safaris offer great duck shooting packages that include an opening weekend on you own pond that we have prepaid for the season. You get to experience the rural annual event the opening morning of duck shooting season, cooked breakfast and all.
